District Justice Miasano administered the oath of office to MaryAnna Ralph, Supervisor,
JoAnn Updegrave, Tax Collector and Adelaide Jones, Auditor at 7:30 p.m.
Organizational Meeting
MaryAnna Ralph nominated Bill Reynolds as Chairman, Board of Supervisors. Bill
Holloway nominated MaryAnna Ralph as Vice Chairperson. It was moved and passed
that the nominations be accepted.
The following appointments were made:

G.D. Houtman & Sons - Township Engineer
David Allen - Roadmaster
David Patten - Solicitor
John Blankenbaker - Vacancy Board

Bill Holloway moved to approve the appointments - motion carried.
Township Manager Kathy Howley reminded members there is a planning seminar at
the township building this Saturday, January 12th from 8 a.m. til noon. Mr. Patten
submitted a draft of an ordinance to install a stop sign at Stockford and Fairville Roads.
Dave Allen will review this and if no changes, Mr. Patten will advertise for the next
meeting.
Bob Kasowski was present to discuss with the Board his proposal to erect a barn with two apartments on top. This proposal has been submitted to the zoning hearing board and is being scheduled for a hearing. He would like to know if the Board would support or at least stay silent on the matter during the hearing. He and his wife will be retiring soon and would like to assure a steady income instead of possibly having to sell the property. The 120 acre+ farm has several income producing units on it now. The

Board would like to see something more definitive as to the use of the property and the
apartments put in writing to assure proper use. The Board would like to see the land
kept open and not developed and would like to work with Mr. Kasowski on this. When
a hearing date is scheduled, they will determine what position they will take on this.
Library Board representative Stephanie Jackson was present and stated the Board
would be meeting next week to determine the position of township representation on
their board. The township's 4th quarter contribution was given to her.
Township Engineer Matt Houtmann reported the following:
Issued a letter to Bob Orenshaw advising him the fill inspection was acceptable and seed/mulch should be put down for winter stabilization. The escrow of $3000 can be released to property owner, Karol Kates.
Issued a letter to Courts at Longwood regarding lot 2 tree removal.
I am in the process of reviewing the following plans; Crosslands Final, Chadds
Ford Elementary preliminary, Steiger Gowie preliminary, Carbonell Final.
Old/New Business
Route 926 project is scheduled to start January 14th. There is a preconstruction
meeting with PennDot January 8th. J.D. Eckman does not yet have a contract with
PennDot.
Dave Patten reported he received a letter from Joseph Ryan requesting a release of
Courts at Longwood Corp. on the lots that have had escrow releases for trees. The
Board approved this.
The decision on the Forsyth conditional use hearing was reviewed by the Board. Mr.
Patten will make one change and have the members sign it at the next meeting.
The Board approved a pay increase for David Allen and Kathleen Howley for this year.
Wage review dates for Harry Miller and James Decker were changed to January in
order to get all personnel in the same month. Therefore a pay increase was prorated
for Harry and Jim effective this month for the year.
A bill list dated January 8th numbering 3223, State Fund # 155, PLGIT #148 was submitted and approved for payment by the Board. With no further business the meeting adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
