PENNSBURY TOWNSHIP

SPECIAL MEETING ON OPEN SPACE BENEFITS

SATURDAY, APRIL 5, 2003, 10 A.M.

The Board of Supervisors called a special meeting for those residents who could not attend night meetings during the week to entertain their questions about the proposed open space benefits initiative. In attendance were Supervisors Bill Reynolds, Karen Wood, MaryAnna Ralph and Township Manager Kathleen Howley.

Bill Reynolds opened the meeting by giving a short presentation on the background:

The following were resident comments that were addressed by the supervisors:

Several residents stated they are in favor of what the supervisors are trying to do. They will gladly pay an extra tax if it means preserving the beauty of the township and keeping it from getting more developed. They thanked the Board for their efforts and recognize the quality of life here. They appreciate the difficulty of this issue and for the record would prefer the property tax versus the earned income tax.

Mr. Reynolds stated there is a lot of work to be done and they will continue to try and educate the public on this matter. The meeting adjourned at 11:30 a.m.

Respectfully submitted:

Kathleen Howley, Township Manager
